Left Michigan in 1981 and headed west to Arizona. I was married to a wonderful woman for many years who passed away in 2001 from cancer. I still work in the consulting engineering business and love every moment of it. Not ready to retire for a long time. Playing lots of golf, traveling at every opportunity, and enjoying kids and grandkids. Arizona is a great state (not for our football or hockey teams) for every outdoor activity you can think of. My daughter has an Oldenburg Dressage Horse that she is breeding. She had to abort twin horses last year due the fact that twins would be too difficult for the mother when giving birth. Her horse is 16 plus hands in size and she has competed in Dressage events for the last ten years. Currently, her horse is pregnant, and has an eleven month gestation period with the baby due in April 2007. My daughter rides twelve different horses each day for other horse owners as well as giving Dressage lessons on the weekends. She is working on her Ph.D. in Genetics and she has informed me that she is not leaving home until she can find a man who can afford a large horse farm.

After traveling to 32 countries in an eleven month period on a $1,300 airline ticket. I took a job with Textron Financial Corporation covering commercial finance sales offices in the Southwestern and Western United States. After accumulating 1.8 million frequent flier miles on American Airlines I was transferred to Atlanta, Georgia. I have switched to Delta Airlines where I now have 450,000 frequent flier miles. My kids use my miles for their trips to Europe and visits to relatives in Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Woods, Novi and Rochester Hills Michigan.

The Mumaw's live in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. We moved to Atlanta the day before the July 1996 Olympics. Our family was in Olympic Park a few hours before the bomb exploded on the first day of the Atlanta Olympics. My wife is a Certified Master Gardener who is very active in the local Master Gardener program. Due to her development of Hydrangea Plants we have garden tours of our home several times a year. My son refuses to leave home as he has become an avid gardener and pond builder. During the week our son  works as a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst at a local bank. He built a Koi pond in the back yard when he removed the root systems of four large pine trees. The pond has three separate levels with three water falls. Due to Red Tailed Hawks in our area finding Koi to be a delicacy, he has had to cover his pond with a 40' foot net. So far he has caught one hawk and approximately eight black rat snakes in his protective net. I'm extremely fortunate as my wife loves her yard and she loves driving her yard tractor to cut the grass. In the last ten years, I have only had to cut the grass two times. Presently, I'm living the life of leisure as the President of our Homeowners Association. It is my job to make sure other homeowners are responsible for the appearance of their yards. I receive all the nitty gritty on my neighbors from my spies in the neighborhood. During normal business hours, I'm Chief Financial Officer of Trident Industries and Executive Vice President of Charabanc Financial Services. I think about retirement all the time but with two children who are working on advanced college degrees it looks like I'm stuck working for the next five to ten years.

Both of my kids live within a 20 minute drive from our house. Ergo, much quality family time with the 5 grandchildren. I have a full family reunion in Colorado the first week of November (for a wedding of my niece). It will be great to see my siblings and cousins.

Another quality golf season. I got my third hole in one and broke 80 several times. Handicap is still single digit. Fortunately, I have many fun playmates. Life is good!

I have been retired for the past 9 years. In my retirement, my partner and I started a company that supplies golfing products to the country clubs of Chicago. We have the best Hole-in-One award in the country. We have developed an impressive line of personalized products and have recently added topical framed sports memoribilia (see www.framedsports.com.) My retirement ended quickly, as I like to keep busy and involved.
